Awards, in Memphis,
I was up for the Blues Song of the Year
JLS, my wife Judy Sanders, and my sister, Cindy Strickler, from Monroe Louisiana
My song "Foreclose on the House of Love" was up for the 2004 Blues song of the year,
and was covered by Marcia Ball, who got the Grammy nomination that year for best blues recording.
Foreclose was the single off her CD, and went to #9 on the blues charts.
I wrote that song in 1997, not from personal experience, but observing the lifestyle of too many Americans
trying to live too large for their budgets. I am saddened by the magnitude of families losing their homes, and hope some balance and lessons can be learned from
this crash.
The ride couldn't go on forever, and now as the markets crash around the world,
I wonder if this song was given to me from the Almighty creator as a warning, to live a more simple life, and to learn what is important and true,
Love, health, family and a connection with our God.

We were married in February 2006, in Vancouver BC, and now live in Kelowna with our 2 dogs Woodstock and Chewbacca, and will soon be having a new cat named Izzy.
I met Judy while on the road in BC with the late great, Long John Baldry, who introduced us in Kelowna back in 1998. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area at the time, and after a
long cross border romance, I became a legal Canadian Resident.
She's from British Columbia Canada, and is an amazing woman with more talents and gifts than I can count. She's does shiatsu, and has a 5th level degree in Quantum Energetic Medicine,
She also has her masters in other healing modalities. She also has a spiritual healing gift from God, that she has developed from an early age. I have seen so many healings since I've been with her, that it has strengthened my faith in God and my walk on this earth has been enlightened and transformed.
She also has her certificate of Arts in Fashion design.
She also has many beautiful poems and lyrics that I have written on some of my Gospel CDs. She has 2 wonderful sons, Sean and Cale, who are in their 20s. Sean is a brilliant computer programmer/ technical wiz, and Cale is a great film director, artist and photgrapher. Cale just finished his second film, Fuzziebuttons, which I wrote the score for.
